Tony: My name is Tony. My recommendation is Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi. The reason I recommend it is that it gives a very good explanation of the history [of] how we've come to live in the racist Western culture that we unfortunately live in and I think it's important for people of color to know the history of how it's come to be what it is. Alma: After you read it, were you able to talk about it with others? Or you kind of just took that information and let it inform your life?
Tony: Yeah. You know, I haven't found many people in my circle that have read it. When conversations come up that make me think about the book, I'll ask if they've read the book. But no, unfortunately, I haven't been able to have a discussion about it with anybody. But yeah, if you read it and you want to have a discussion about it, I'm down.

Lo recomiendo porque ofrece una muy buena explicación de la historia y de cómo hemos vivido en una cultura racista en el Occidente. Pienso que es importante que las personas que no sean de raza blanca sepan cómo ha evolucionado la historia hasta el día actual.

Tony: Sí. Sabes, no he encontrado muchas personas en mi círculo social que lo han leído. Cuando hay conversaciones que me recuerdan al libro, les pregunto si lo han leído. Pero no, desafortunadamente, no he podido hablar del tema con nadie. Pero si, si lo lees y después quieres dialogar acerca del libro, apuntada estoy.
