Melina: My name is Melina Aguilar and I grew up in the City of Bell and the book that I recommend is called Trece latas de atún and it's by one of my favorite artists. She's a singer and she goes by Amandititita and this book is kind of a mix – it's a story of how she grew up and it's literal, but there is also figurative language in there. She's also a poet and you can see her writing style both in the book and in the music that she composes. She's an amazing artist [and] her dad was also an amazing artist that sadly passed away during an earthquake, and in this book, you learn a lot about her and her story growing up.
Alma: Who was her dad?
Melina: Her dad? Rockdrigo. He was a big rock en español artist in Mexico whose life was cut short because of this earthquake* that shook everybody. It was incredible. You can definitely tell that passion for artistry was passed down to her and she keeps his legacy alive. *Also known as

Melina: Mi nombre es Melina Aguilar, crecí en la ciudad de Bell y el libro que recomiendo se llama Trece latas de atún. Fue escrito por una de mis artistas preferidas. Es cantante y le dicen Amanditita. El libro es como una mezcla literal de su infancia con lenguaje simbólico. Ella también es poeta y se alcanza a apreciar su estilo de escritura en sus libros y música. Es un artista increíble al igual que su padre, pero tristemente su padre falleció durante un temblor, y en este libro aprenderás mucho acerca de ella y de su historia al ir creciendo.
Alma: ¿Quién era su padre?
Melina: ¿Su padre? Rockdrigo. Él fue un gran artista famoso de rock en español en México cuya vida terminó prematuramente durante el temblor* que tanto estremeció a todos. Fue increíble. Sin duda alguna la pasión artística fue heredada a ella y mantiene su legado vivo.
